The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure that facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all machinery and electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
SPECIFIC TASKS, DUTIES, AND/OR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
● Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
● Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
● Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment status.
● Update maintenance logs and inventory of supplies.
● Work closely with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
● Assist in the training of new staff as needed.
● Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
● Participate in safety training and contribute to safety initiatives.
● Assemble and install machinery, equipment, and electrical systems and instruments according to specifications
● Calibrate and adjust systems and instruments to meet specifications
● Perform scheduled maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
● Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, develop corrective actions based on root cause analysis
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
● High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training preferred.
● Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in maintenance and electrical or a related field.
● Solid understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks up to 50 lbs
● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and parts lists
● Ability to use hand and power tools and measurement instruments
● Ability to troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions
● Ability to work under general direction
● Ability to exercise independent judgment to resolve problems
● Good troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills
